In January the Texas Department of Agriculture released “Texas Feed and Fertilizer Control Service: Feed Industry Memorandum No. 5-36.” This memorandum outlines the requirements for the manufacturing, labeling, and distribution of animal feed products regarding the new definition of hempseed meal, mechanical extracted as a new ingredient, for horses and chickens in the state of Texas.

With this memorandum Texas agriculture officials have approved hempseed-derived feed for chickens and horses, and set regulations for such products. This approval would not have been possible with out the Texas Hemp Growers Association & the various hemp feed research projects with Dr. Kimberly Guay and others at Tarleton State University!

Texas horse ranchers and chicken producers can now enjoy the benefits of hemp seed meal & hemp seed oil!
