Recent efforts for the Hemp Feed Initiative landed HFC leadership in Washington DC. HFC President, Andrew Bish, visited several congressional and senate offices. We focused on congress members that serve as leaders in Agriculture Committees. He visited state offices from Nebraska, Montana, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Michigan, Colorado, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Indiana, and South Dakota. Among these, productive and promising discussions came from the offices of Senator John Tester (MT), Representative Thomas Massie (KY), and Senator John Thune (SD).

Bish was fortunate to gain considerable support from allies and advocates who established valuable connections with their legislators and assisted in coordinating meetings. This collective effort significantly amplified the impact of th Hemp Feed Initiative, emphasizing the importance of hemp feed in our nation’s agriculture industry. Over the coming days and weeks, Bish will hold additional meetings with ag policy memebers from offices that could not be accommodated during his visit due to schedule conflicts and time constraints.

In the spirit of transparancey and in an effort to keep you closely involved in our journey, the following documents were shared with the offices visited:

In addition, a special highligh included the involvement of Bish’s daughter Eliana, who provided immense support and took the opportunity to learn about politics and government. Bish is greatful for the learning opportunity this trip presented for her. (Eliana seen in photos with Andrew Bish below)

We humbly request your continued support for the Hemp Feed Coalition. If you reside in a state with congress members who serve on their agriculture committees, your assistance in setting up and participating in meetings regarding the approval of hemp seed meal for non-consumption animals is greatly appreciated. Your active participation and engagement with your representatives can have a significant impact on our collective advocacy efforts. Together, we can provide a meaningful solution to today’s feed shortages and offer valuable rotational crop opportunities for our nation’s farmers.

Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to providing updates on our progress.
